“As an artist, he is especially sensitive, therefore, it is a great pleasure to work with him. Viktoras Paukštelis is distinguished for exclusively intellectual search in the shape of musical pieces; sounds that are of great volume and space, and for rich, and eloquent technique” – pianist, Prof. Jean Marc Luisada.
Nonstandard interpretations, gentility, expressiveness, fluency on stage – these are the distinctive features of this pianist. Viktoras Paukštelis does not seek for a repertoire news – the pieces of J.S. Bach, W.A.Mozart, L. van Beethoven, F.Chopin, and A. Scriabin are the origins of his inspiration – he looks at the traditional pieces through the artistic prism of his personality. Stage is not a particular place where the fixed musical interpretation is presented. The mature performative vision is renewed with energy through his spontaneity, it becomes the process of “here and now”; new emotional colours and painting skills are becoming stronger. The latter feature was unfolded when his creativity manifested few years ago. In his opinion, music and art are the two components that complement one another. In pianist’s paintings the deliberately unpolished impulsiveness adds experimental courage on stage; the visual work gradually becomes hearing, which is moved into the level of pianism. The talented pianist virtuoso seeks for a key to every musical piece in the combination of delicate piano, which is melting in silence and ecstasy.
Viktoras Paukštelis studied at the National M. K. Čiurlionis School of Arts in the classes of L. Jakniūnienė and D. Račys, and at the B. Dvarionas Music School in the class of T. Radovič. He completed his Masterʼs studies at the Lithuanian Music and Theatre Academy in 2007, studying in the classes of Prof. Dr. M. Azizbekova and Prof. V. Vitaitė. Currently he is studying at Paris Music Academy “Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris”. Viktoras Paukštelis was awarded diplomas at the International B. Dvarionas Young Pianists and the 2001 International S. Vainiūnas Pianists competitions. He has participated in many festivals and attended master classes with professors J. Hlinka, G. Graffman, B. Petrushansky, M. Voskresensky, A. di Bonaventura, and J. - M. Luisada, among others.
The pianist has performed in Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, the Netherlands, the USA, and Lithuania, and appeared in concerts with the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra and the B. Dvarionas Music School Teachers Chamber Orchestra.
In 2008 he was on the jury of the National Young Pianists Competition "Musica amabile".
